deemer – I would just deem things all day long and work at home
Two of my passions are travel and photography. My dream job would incorporate the two. I would travel the world taking amazing photographs that would be published for all to enjoy.
My dream job would allow me ultimate freedom. I would not have to go into the office, I could work from home and visit the customers site. I would use my business consulting and technology skills and work for a company that provided training to keep my skills up to date. I would have great benefits and the ability to try new things. The most important aspect would be stability. I wouldn’t have to worry constantly about lay offs. The company would care about the environment and the community and we as employees could help give back to our community. That would be fabulous.
To this very moment I resent my first lesson in semantics. I was too young at the time to understand that “What do you want to be when you grow up?” actually translated into “What type of employment do you wish to pursue in order to earn money?” So all I ever wanted to “be” was a relatively decent person. But to this moment I still haven’t one damn clue what I want to “do” for a reason no more noble than to earn money so I can pay bills and buy stuff.
So you see, I’ve never had a “dream” job. In fact, I think few of us really do. It’s all very much like falling in love. We rarely find “true love”; it finds us.
So details and specifics of the occupation and duties involved aside, all I’ve ever sought from an employer has been that they not commit the three big sins in my life: Do not treat me like a child, do not insult my intellilgence, and do not take me for granted.
Trust me: Employees really do wish to accomplish something, to perform those “other duties as assigned”. But you’re going to play hell convincing us that validating your already overly-inflated sense of your superiority is our number one concern.
My dream job would be a self supporting artist

My dream job would be a successful author and illustrator of children’s books.

Dream job, eh? Well, I’m a bit cynical about the whole concept of a “Dream Job” since a dream job means different things to different people. But, I’ll give it a try. My dream job would help me accomlish three things: 1) maintain my family, 2) maintain my freedom and 3)maintain my sanity.
To maintain my family, my dream job would have to offer me flexibility. Technology today certainly can help. I would need flexible hours as well as access to training and technology to do my job. Of course, this dream job would have to pay above the median salary of all US workers, but I’m not looking for six-figures.
To maintain my freedom, I must be able to work from home. I did the 7-6 daily grind… Yes, 7am to 6pm when you factor in a commute. That’s way too much unpaid and unproductive time and commuting is bad for the environment and keeps the US dependent on oil producing companies.
Finally, to maintain my sanity, my dream job must match my values. My employer must act with integrity in the production of their service or product.
By the way, if you ever hear of such a job, let me know. Thanks for the opportunity.
Working in cartooning. Sponge Bob or South Park would be great!

My dream job would be to travel the world as a freelance journalist and food critic. I would go on adventures to remote places in the world and try the most exotic and bizarre foods that nobody has ever heard of. I would have my work published in Travel + Leisure, AFAR, and National Geographic for starters. Occasionally I would even be invited to appear as a travel and food expert on shows on the Travel Channel or Food Network. Maybe i would get to be a recurring guest judge on Iron Chef! Eventually, I would become a B-list celebrity and be invited to dance in Dancing With the Stars and I would of course, win!
My dream job would be to be a mom. I have a 4 month old in heaven, and every moment he was here was so wonderful. When I have children again, I will cherish every moment. Now if only there was a way to get paid for being a mom haha.
An Actress that is what I hope to be someday!
My dream job is as an astronomer, but not doing reasearch, just looking through a telescope all night!
For 35 years I taught elementary school children and enjoyed that portion of my life so much that
I felt I couldn’t ask for more. Now I have another dream job. In retirement I care for my own garden and home–don’t pay anyone for help except for really big things (tree removal, etc.).
Each day I go for my walk and play 100 Pick-Up (I put trash in a reusable bag until I count 100 pieces).
Thanks for the contest. Best wishes for a happy holiday.
Thank you for the giveaway.
My dream job is a little out of reach at the moment, I’m not saying it will be impossible to acheive in the future. I’d love to become a psychologist or even a small business owner one day.
I will take the steps to make this possible as soon as I am able to.
My dream job would be to work in a bookstore. I am a book fiend! I would love to have all those books available to touch and peruse.
My dream job would be to become a writer of fiction novels. I have started a couple but I get writers block after a couple of chapters. I would love to write books that people would love to read.
I already have my dream job as a stay-at-home mother. I’ve been out in the workforce before and can’t imagine anything more fulfilling than raising my children and being their direct influence. We also homeschool to give them a better education, direction, and religious education. I also love taking care of our home.
My dream job would be to be a successful children’s writer. I’d be doing what I love to do the most…create stories for kids. I’ve been writing for about ten years now. I’ve written several stories for picture books and a chapter book, which I’m currently trying to get published. Although I’ve gotten a few nice letters from editors, it feels like an impossible dream. Still, writing is the one thing that brings me the most fulfillment. I feel like this is part of my purpose for being here. I’m not looking to get rich. I’d just like to write full-time and make a reasonable living, so I can pay my bills. I may never get published, but I’ll always write in my spare time. Thanks.

My dream job would enable me to use my skills, education and experience to benefit the people, institutions, products and services that I believe most deserve attention and support.
Since I’m an extreme film fanatic, I would love to work at Criterion, since they make the best DVDs anyway. They really care about the quality of cinema. Not only do they take some of the most underrated/criminally forgotten films of all-time, they also clean then up with great digital transfers, but they also give them some of the greatest supplements. But if that doesn’t work out, then I would love to teach handwriting classes, just like I did when I was just in the fourth (4th) grade, even though my handwriting isn’t what it used to be.
My dream job is the one I’m doing right now! I’m self employed, and work from home (can we say ‘sweats, no commute…’!). I consult with a number of great clients to support them in their use of an MRP/accounting software package. I set my own schedule, work with a really good product and great people who appreciate my help. It’s great! About the only thing that I would change would be to have just a bit more work (It’s been a bit lean for the last year or so)!
My dream job is to work as a counselor with grade school children to help them with those problems that make school difficult for them. Although I am aware there is a high burnout rate in those positions, I would like to know that I have made a difference in someone’s life–one for the better.
My dream job is to be a successful and profressional musician. All my life, I’ve known nothing better than music. It’s the one thing that I truely love in life.
I have just found my dream job, I am working as a ballroom instructor in a dancing studio and I feel like my dream has become a truth
“My dream job”
My dream job is to work for myself and not have to rely on the government for an unemployment check. Corporate America full of crooks who take advantage of their workers while they get rich. By working for myself all the hours of work and dedication will benefit me and my family instead of greedy Corporate America fat cats. I would love to open a Judgment Recovery business so I can spend more time with those I love.
My dream job is to help children and abused women, I am trying now to complete my GED, I intend to go to college to become a canslor, not only to help kids but abused women. I have been there and intend to help others out of bad relationships of abuse.People sometimes do not know there is help and do not know how to get it. They feel there is no way out.I want them to know there is help and they can get out of these relationships that are bad for them. I am a suvivor and so are my kids, and that is my dream job to help women and children know no matter what you to can survive and you can over come this.
My dream job is working in a chocolate factory.
I think my dream job would be having my own show on the Travel channel. I’ve barely have traveled out of the state i live in but I so do yearn to travel and experience more to life than what i have in front of me. Anyways I’ve got a name picked out and everything I’m Ready!
My Dream Job.
My dream job would be that of a talented author. I would write books of either religious philosophy, fiction, or a combination of the two.
Being a talented author would provide me with numerous benefits. I would work out of my home which could be anywhere I wanted to live. I could work at home, while on vacation, while out shopping or even while I’m driving (but only if I could remember my ideas until I could safely write them down). A second advantage to being a writer is that I could choose my hours and structure my days to work, eat, sleep, and play to best suit my most productive times. No more eating simply because it is time to eat. I’ll eat when I’m hungry. There will also be no more packing a lunch or spending money to get lunch. I’ll eat at home, right outside my office. Another benefit to being a fictional writer is I could choose my own topics so long as I found one that worked for me. Financially, a talented author who receives income based on past work continues to receive income even after he is dead. And when you go, why not leave something behind for either a spouse, some kids, or even a fine charity!
My dream job would be a Resume Consultant. I would stay home and make resumes for folks looking for work. Interviews would be done via e-mail or phone.
My dream job would be to be an independent mental health therapist with my own office.
Thanks for entering me! Great Contest!

Many people would say their “dream job” would be something that made them a lot of money. My “dream job” would be to do something that satisfied my conscience at the end of the day. A job that I don’t refer to as my “job”, but as my “career”. A career in which I didn’t dread waking up in the morning to go to everyday. A career that isn’t full of stress and strain like you hear about everywhere else. I want my work to make me feel better about everything else around me. I want to go to “work” and feel free, happy, and comfortable.
I wish money weren’t an issue, but I would want to have a salary that satisfied my family’s needs so that my family could also live a free, happy, and comfortable life. A ridiculously large salary isn’t necessary for that.
All-in-all, my “dream job” may be different from someone else’s idea of a “dream job”, but that all depends on one’s dreams and idea of happiness. One person may be happy with a career as a heart-surgeon, and someone else may be happy with a career as a waiter or waitress. As for me, my “dream job” is to just be free, happy, and comfortable.
Writing.
My dream job would be a film director. It’s not an easy job and certainly not a stress-free job, nor would I likely make a lot of money from it, but ultimately that’s not what matters to me. What does matter is the idea that I could spend my time working hard to make something beautiful for other people to appreciate and to serve as my mark on the world, rather than spend it slowly dying in a cubicle doing other peoples’ work.
while my current position allows me to display my versatility, i think at the end of the day, its all about being happy in life. my dream job would be to move to south florida to become a personal assistant to a high profile celebrity. this job would entail serving their wants and needs from day to day.it allows me to move around freely and to display my sense of intelligence and be held to the ultimate in reliabilty and trust. the warm sun in south florida would make the day very bearable.
My dream job is to write a movie script and have it produced.
my dream is to be a composer. i have talent to play any musical instrument. and i can compose any type of melody. eastern or western. i want every one to hear my melodies. salary is not the point. entertaintment is the thing i need.
I have many different interest, so my dream job would allow me to explore everything I enjoy. I have a fondness of learning about the world around me, including the people and their beliefs, cultures and values.
It would also allow me to be myself and to learn about nature and the environment. I would be allowed to capture my experience through videos, photography, and writings in order to share with others in hopes of broadening their horizons.
Some career paths that are of interest to me include being an explorer/adventurer like Josh Bernstein, or being a travel host like Samantha Brown. The idea of traveling overseas to teach math, science, or English is also very appealing. I also wouldn’t mind being a life-long volunteer to developing countries if given a proper stipend to cover all of my needs.
My dream job is being an inventor for a chocolate candy company. I would spend my days, happily creating new candy bars. Of course, I would have to sample all my failures. I could also use my creativity in coming up with new packing ideas. And I could do charity work by donating tons of chocolate to homeless shelters, abused and neglected kids, poor countries…..ah the perfect life!
My dream job is working with the mentally disaabled and having it pay my bills. I work in social services and have for almost 20 years and I can barely make ends meet. Why do such self rewarding jobs pay so little?
don’t know what my dream job would/should/could be, just know this ain’t it
My dream job would be one that is on my terms meaning my own hours and something I love to do which is Photography as in having my own photo and design shoppe from home
My dream job is to be a baby nurse.
My “Dream Job”. Well! All of my life I have envisioned myself as a famous Inventor. I have Invented over 50 product’s. My dream has been to have my own non-profit organization and use my inventions to generate the revenue to operate my organization and use a large percent of the revenue to give back to the community. Helping to restore the lives of those that are less fortunate. I love helping people. I believe that this world would be a better place if each one would reach one to help our fellow man. God created this world for everyone to be able to enjoy the pursuit of happiness. There is enough to go around so that no one will be hungry or homeless. I may not be able to solve all of the problems in the world but my dream is to have a job where I have control of the revenue and I can reach out to those that are less fortunate. I am a “Dreamer” that believes that I can make a difference in this “World”.
My dream job would be a csi,I am so intrested in doing it!Would love to solve crimes, investagte etc…

As a freelance musician, I’m on my way to successfully living my dream job as a full-time singer. Right now I feel like a professional auditioner, but my contacts and skills are growing and more opportunities open up for me every day!
To be the official columnist for Analog’s Probability Zero….but we all know the chances of that
