Hello,
thank you for this video. i’m french and looking for opportunity in China. So, English is essential for all job in this country.
Regards
It’s a really nice talk and very useful to teach but it is a pity that the subtiltes coincide so little with the speech.
the sound effect… boinggggggggggggggg
great advice! i agree that preparation is very important. It will really help if you cannot effectively express yourself to people. and it makes you feel confident because you know you prepared for it. another great vid is “jobseeker revolution” check it out.
Another important tip for first impression is when you’re in the parking lot.
At one of old my jobs the HR Supervisor, and the President of the company had windows in their offices & could see outside, but people couldn’t see inside.
I remember people were DQ’ed for driving stupid in the parking lot, leaving kids in the car, and doing other weird stuff, before even stepping foot in the building.
i really wanna put some powder on her face..
Super Excellent!
British English
take it the way you want to but I definitely did not see that as rude. She was just stating facts.
Hey Thanks !
the weather, your journey, comment on how nice their reception is decorated or you could even ask if they have any last minute tips – anything really, as long as you come across as friendly and don;t interrupt oif they’re trying to work or answer phones!
what would you say are good topics for “small talk” with the receptionist.
some great advice
Love the the tips! Thank you so much! =)
The drawings kind of made me laugh x]
did you selectively ignore the part where she said “there are obvious religious exceptions”?
thats very rude.
This video is very thorough!
I wouldn’t say so – presuming it’s clean and neatly styled.
question…are long hair frowned upon (especially if you are a young graduate)
thank you very helpful
thanx
No headgear?? I thought you Brits were all about “tolerance” and “multiculturism”?
Good tips, thank you.
I got problem of loading!!!
all i can see is “monster”!!
i watch this before every interview
I keep trying to get this stupid video to work and its being shit. who else is having difficulties?
YOU’RE NOT KYLE!!!
@georgewoofbates Not necessarily. You can achieve the same depth of field on a camcorders as well. You just have to turn on your camcorders manual focus. Even some of the new camcorders (not point and shoot camcorders like the flip etc.) have great auto focus. Its more about how you know your camera to achieve the image you want more than the camera doing it.
Great video…nice work…very useful…!!!!!
@mykoniato its not a camcorder its a DSLR. it looks professional because of the Depth of field you cna achieve with a DSLR that you cannot achieve with standard consumer camcorders.
great work
Nice work
Hope to see more
@JEZZfilms…My Father in Law, CEO of a major Japanese Bank, had the photograpers escorted out of the office, because they brought so many lights and clap-trap with them. The shoot was cancelled!….He then asked for a new photographer to do the shoot on condition he came with a camera, and nothing else!… I saw the results…They were excellent!
Excellent. Just what I was looking for.
How much do you find generally this affects the interview its self? often when doing corporate/doc stuff i feel using too much of a lighting set up intimidates the interviewee, what is your advice on this?
@bmcondon Thanks a ton! That’s what I thought my problem was. The only lights I can get to work with my gobo are 50 watt spoltlight from Lowe’s. The 65 watts don’t work, but the 50s do, ain’t sure why.
@sonne5 If you want a sharp image to be projected onto a wall. You will need a focused light, for example – Pacific lights or general spot lights. Any light with a lens inside. Will be able to be used with a gobo. Hope i answered your question.
in 7:02.. how can i make my picture (through a camcorder) to look like this? So proffesionall? What type o camcorder you are using in this scene?
If you’re using ordinary lights, how do you make a gobo? I’m using dome (scoop) lights from lowes. regular or flood bulbs. I tried making a venitian blind gobo, but it doesn’t seem to work. I don’t know if it’s cause of the light, or what. I can somewhat make it work, but the trick is, the light/gobo have to be pointing at a strange angle. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong
Nice job with the video. You took your time and were thorough. Thanks. You’ve got a good eye.
great video, very helpful tips on lighting, what type of lights were those with the soft boxes and where can i find them at? harptvonline@gmail.com
@Tucomen Unless you’re sitting on your duff doing nothing, I’m sure the money you spent on film school was not wasted. Personally, I skipped the school and went the equipment route…bought the gear and software, et. al. Now I’m in the learning curve. There’s no one right way to get there. One way or the other…time or money or both, there’s always a price to be paid. I think this guy has it right. Just get out there and do what you love. I wish you the success in your endeavors.
Peace
I’ve heard — well, actually READ about – lighting guys talk about light as a 3D entity…painting 3D space with light. This video is a nice demonstration of the different ways a space can be filled with light…borrowing from nature…filling some of it…very little of it…most of it…etc. Thank you for posting this demo.
Peace
great video. who the hell missed the like button?
This is the best lighting video on youtube as of this date.
nice wall art
Thanks dude I feel like I just waisted $40,000 on film school.
Thanks, I really appreciated that. I get it – onwards and upwards!
hey, i was wondering if you have a simple scetch of the layout of the lighting?
Great video – thanks for taking the time to show the whole setup both with and without the different lights.
